Today we went to the Rolling Hills Zoo in
Salina, KS. It was great!! The weather was totally perfect and we took a picnic lunch to eat (which provided a good break in the middle for the kids). We saw animals that we hadn't seen at other zoos: 5 rhinos, giraffes, dart frogs and an anteater.

The best part of the whole trip was when Logan and Kevin fed the giraffes. For only $1 you are allowed to feed the giraffes hay and pellets. At one point two giraffes came to eat, when they did Logan laughed and had the biggest smile. Logan said, "It licked me, it didn't bite!" It was such a special experience, it made the whole trip worthwhile!

Another fun thing that this zoo has to offer is a tunnel in the
bear's cage. You crawl in and can pop up inside the cage. There is a glass enclosure so that you can really be up close to the bear. (Of course while we were there, the bear was sleeping on the other side of a log, but we had fun in the tunnel anyway).
